Sydney Sexual Health Centre (SSHC) is the oldest sexual health service in NSW, operating since 1933. We are a busy centre offering testing, treatment and management for sexually transmissible infections (STIs) and HIV. We are part of the Directorate of Population and Community Health (PaCH) within South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD), which is funded by the NSW Ministry of Health.
We provide you with testing, treatment and management of sexually transmissible infections (STIs), including HIV.

If your results confirm you have an STI, a nurse from SSHC will call you from a private number to let you know.
To ensure we’re talking to the right person we’ll ask for some personal information and book you for a treatment appointment as soon as we can.
The good news is, most STIs can be treated with medication. For those that can’t be cured, there are medications available to manage them.

We offer health education and advice on how to prevent passing on HIV or STIs to others.
An important part of this is contact tracing. We may ask you to contact your recent sexual partners to let them know they should get a test for an STI as well.
