If your results confirm you have an STI, a nurse from SSHC will call you from a private number to let you know.

To ensure we’re talking to the right person we’ll ask for some personal information and book you for a treatment appointment as soon as we can.

The good news is, most STIs can be treated with medication. For those that can’t be cured, there are medications available to manage them.

Feeling like you might have STI symptoms? Check out the time-to-test tool or call to discuss with an assessment nurse.

We offer health education and advice on how to prevent passing on HIV or STIs to others.

An important part of this is contact tracing. We may ask you to contact your recent sexual partners to let them know they should get a test for an STI as well.

There are some websites to support you in doing this if you don’t feel comfortable letting people know:

Or call The Sexual Health Infor Link (SHIL) for support 1800 451 624.
